Sun sextile Jupiter: Growth or Caution?

February 24, 2012

The moves into a supportive sextile link with jolly Jupiter, which is usually a time of optimism, growth and expansion. However, this time around, there are a couple of factors that may inhibit some of the typically lucky Jupiter energy.

The Sun is currently in a sign ruled by Jupiter (Pisces) which is great, as it means the Sun is especially attuned to whatever Jupiter has to offer. However Jupiter, in the early part of Taurus, is in a condition known as ‘peregrine’, which means aimless wanderer.

The main light – the Sun – takes cues from a Jupiter who’s not that interested in setting direction. This particular Jupiter is more likely to lead you up the garden path than create rich opportunities.

Jupiter, while in this peregrine condition, looks to Venus (ruler of Taurus) for guidance. What can Venus offer? From her place in detriment in Aries, not much at all. Venus’ current signs creates some limitations, meaning Venus is working hard to take care of her own needs and has little if anything left over to help Jupiter.

While on the surface the applying Sun Jupiter sextile appears to bring opportunity and growth, considering the exact nature and strength of the current placements of the Sun and Jupiter shows there’s less opportunity and more potential for distraction than you might think.

Consideration is also worth applying to any acts of generosity you’re inspired to share in the next 48 hours. Giving is almost always good, but it’s best when you give what you can, rather than over do it.

As the Sun/Jupiter sextile invites you to expand your perspective, consider doing so in ways that won’t scatter your energy or deplete you without reward.
